Stamford Water Pollution Control Facility Upgrade and Expansion includes 24 mgd average daily flow and 68 mgd peak flow with upgrades to enhance nitrogen removal, solids handling and other functions of the plant.

  • Upgrades and/or expansions in: screen building and raw sewage pumping station, primary clarifier flow distribution structure, primary clarifiers, new and existing aeration basins, new methanol building, new and existing secondary clarifiers, secondary clarifier flow distribution structure, new UV disinfection facility, new chemical building, and new effluent flow meter vault
  • Principal areas of work in the solids processes include upgrades and expansions in the primary sludge pumping station, thickening and degritting facility and sludge processing building
  • Upgrades and expansion to the power distribution system
  • New switchgear/generator building
  • Operations building
  • Maintenance and blower building
  • Three new odor control facilities
  • New in-plant control system and a new SCADA system that communicates with remote lift stations
  • Construction of a new highway department facility with associated support structures and facilities, including a new storm water pump station
  • Construction of a new recycling transfer facility
